The Man Behind The Mask

"The Man behind the Mask" is an Alice Cooper´s song...This song was compose to "Friday the 13th", but here I´m telling about another Mask. There is a guy of 1.000 faces, the fantastic Jim Carrey.

In a good sense, he is a "monster" of comedy. His movies are hilarious. I can imagine the set movie when Jim act. In fact, Jim Carrey is a comedian beyond from our time.

"The Man behind the Mask" é uma música do grande Alice Cooper...Essa música foi composta para o filme "Sexta-Feira 13", mas aqui eu estou falando sobre outra máscara. Existe um sujeito de 1.000 faces, o fantástico Jim Carrey.

No bom sentido, ele é um "monstro" da comédia. Seus filmes são hilários. Eu posso imaginar o set de filmagem quando Jim atua. Na verdade, Jim Carrey é um comediante além do nosso tempo.

Cloud Number 9

The Canadian Singer Bryan Adams has a very good voice. Sometimes his voice remember me Rod Stewart. Once Bryan, Rod and Sting recorded a beautiful song called "All for Love". I love Bryan´s songs, in special "Summer 69" and "I´ll always be right there".
There is a wonderful concert that I recommend, it was recorded in Ireland - 2.000 called "Live at Slane Castle". This concert is avaliable on DVD. The song "Cloud Number 9" give me extreme happiness...

O cantor Canadense Bryan Adams tem uma voz muito boa. As vezes sua voz me lembra Rod Stewart. Uma vez Bryan, Rod e Sting gravaram uma bela música chamada "All for Love". Eu adoro as músicas de Bryan, em especial "Summer 69" e "I´ll always be right there".
Existe um concerto sensacional que eu recomendo, ele foi gravado na Irlanda - 2.000 chamado "Live at Slane Castle". Esse concerto está disponível em DVD. A música "Cloud Number 9" me proporciona um estado extremo de felicidade. Essa expressão no idioma inglês "Cloud Number 9" inclusive, que numa tradução livre quer dizer "Nuvem número 9", na verdade significa um estado de felicidade extrema...Tá explicado então !!!

Steve Carrell

Steve Carrell is an American actor and comedian. His movies are very funny. In "Bruce Almighty", he acted with Jim Carrey for our pleasure. Another hilarious movie with this great actor was "The 40-Years-Old Virgin". After Don Adams, just Steve was able to become alive again Maxwell Smart in "Get Smart". I don´t get imagine another actor for this work.

Steve Carrell é um ator e comediante americano. Seus filmes são muito divertidos. Em "O Todo Poderoso I", ele atuou com Jim Carrey para o nosso prazer. Outro filme hilário com esse grande ator foi "O Virgem de 40 Anos". Após Don Adams, somente Steve foi capaz de tornar vivo novamente Maxwell Smart em "Get Smart". Eu não consigo imaginar um outro ator para esse papel.

Bruce Almighty

In this carticature I tried to draw the famous actor Morgan Freeman like the God in "Bruce Almighty". Unfortunately, I think the final result wasn´t good for me. Maybe the nose, the mouth, the teeth, the hair,..., I don´t know. In fact, this artwork maybe used for my development in a different technic. I used color pencils and chalk pastels...I hope that God (Mr. Morgan) forgive me...

Nessa caricatura eu tentei retratar o famoso ator Morgan Freeman como o Deus do filme "O Todo Poderoso". Infelizmente, eu acho que o resultado final não foi bom. Pode ser o nariz, a boca, os dentes, o cabelo,..., eu não sei. Na verdade o trabalho pode ser usado para o meu desenvolvimento numa tecnica diferente. Eu usei lápis de cor aquarelável e pastel seco...Eu espero que Deus (Sr. Morgan) me perdoe...

More than a Titan 3

I like to listen the Brazilian Rock Groups, specially "The Titans". Recently, I did two caricatures of theirs members. Now I tried another member, Paulo Miklos. Besides "The Titans", he has made some movies like an actor. Paulo Miklos has a good voice and play some instruments too. In despite of some members left the group, "The Titans" are a very strong band of Brazilian Rock´n Roll.

Eu gosto de ouvir grupos de rock brasileiros, especialmente "Os Titãs". Recentemente, eu fiz duas caricaturas de seus membros. Agora eu tentei um outro membro, Paulo Miklos. Além dos "Titãs", ele fez alguns filmes como ator. Paulo Miklos tem uma boa voz e toca alguns instrumentos também. Embora alguns dos membros deixarem o grupo, "Os Titãs" são uma banda brasileira de rock´n roll muito forte.

Gimme fuel, gimme fire...

The Metallica´s power comes from his leader, James Hetfield...He is a great musician and a good singer too. In fact, you need to like of heavy metal to understand what I say. Metallica has heavy songs, but they have soft songs also. The experience with the San Francisco Symphony was single, but the band was born to play heavy metal. Then, how James would say: "...Do you want heavy ??? 'Tallica gives you heavy, baby !!!..."

O poder do Metallica vem do seu líder, James Hetfield...Ele é um grande músico e um bom vocalista também. Na verdade, você precisa gostar de heavy metal para entender o que eu digo. Metallica tem músicas pesadas, mas também músicas leves. A experiência com a Sinfônica de San Francisco foi única, mas a banda nasceu para tocar heavy metal. Assim, como James diria: "...Vocês querem heavy ??? 'Tallica dá heavy a vocês, baby !!!..."

A Little Ain´t Enough

In my oppinion the best Van Halen´s singer was David Lee Roth. In the 80´s he left the band to try a solo career, but the Van Halen and David lose. I´m a Van Halen´s fan. I grew up listening good songs like "Dance The Night Away", "Bottoms Up !", "D.O.A.", "Hear About It Later", "Unchained" and "Jump"...Fortunately, in 2.007 the band has announced the return of the incredible David Lee Roth...U-HU !!! The good times come back.

Na minha opinião, o melhor vocalista da banda Van Halen foi David Lee Roth. Nos anos 80 ele deixou o grupo para tentar carreira solo, mas o Van Halen e David perderam. Eu sou um fan do Van Halen. Eu cresci ouvindo boas músicas como "Dance The Night Away", "Bottoms Up !", "D.O.A.", "Hear About It Later", "Unchained" e "Jump"...Felizmente, em 2.007 a banda anunciou a volta do incrível David Lee Roth...U-HU !!! Os bons tempos voltaram.

The Hindenburg Airship 2

I sent to the Piracicaba International Humor Contest - 2.009 a remake of the "The Hindenburg Airship" cartoon...It was made on the old picutre. I tried a new category in the contest called Vanguard*. I did a remake in 3D...The result was interesting for me, but it wasn´t to the selection jury. No problems...!!! It was a learning for me. The idea for this humor cartoon come from the Mythbusters program of Discovery Channel. According to Jamie and Adam in 34 second the Hindenburg Airship was destroyed by fire.

*Vanguard - Graphic Humor Translated into forms that do not follow previous standards, but are presented as a cardboard presentation.

Para o Salão Internacional de Humor de Piracicaba - 2.009, eu enviei uma releitura do cartum "O Dirígivel Hindenburg" sobre uma velha fotografia. Eu tentei uma nova categoria no salão chamada Vanguarda*. Eu fiz uma parte da releitura em 3D...O resultado foi interessante para mim, mas não para o júri de seleção. Sem problemas...!!! Foi mais um aprendizado para mim. A idéia para o cartum veio do programa Mythbusters do Canal Discovery. De acordo com Jamie e Adam em 34 segundos o fogo consumiu o Dirigível.

*Vanguarda - É uma categoria recém criada pelo salão em que são aceitos trabalhos fora dos padrões de técnicas convencionais, como os trabalhos gráficos por computador e pinturas digitais.

The Queen´s Guitar

Brian May is a great musician. In the 70´s he started the Queen group with Freddie, Roger and John. This English Band was a reference into the Rock´n Roll. Brian and his guitar are a legend. Last year, I watched a wonderful concert of Queen + Paul Rodgers in São Paulo. Unfortunately, I couldn´t see Freddie Mercury alive with Queen, but I could see Brian and Roger. Some opportunities in the life are single.

Brian May é um grande músico. Na década de 70 ele iniciou o grupo Queen com Freddie, Roger e John. Essa banda inglesa foi uma referência dentro do Rock´n Roll. Brian e sua guitarra são uma lenda. No ano passado, eu assisti um maravilhoso show do Queen + Paul Rodgers em São Paulo. Infelizmente, eu não pude ver Freddie Mercury ao vivo com o Queen, mas eu pude ver Brian e Roger. Algumas oportunidades são únicas na vida.

Take The Long Way Home...

Recently, I bought an excellent DVD called "Take The Long Way Home - Live in Montreal"...This is a Roger Hodgson´s DVD. He was the main singer of Supertramp. In fact, I think that Roger is the Supertramp´s soul. In the first time that I watched the DVD, I felt like watching the Supertramp...It was amazing concert.

Recentemente, eu comprei um excelente DVD chamado "Take The Long Way Home - Live in Montreal"... Se trata de um DVD do cantor Roger Hodgson. Ele foi o principal vocalista do Supertramp. Na verdade, eu acho que ele é a alma do Supertramp. Na primeira vez que eu assisti o DVD, eu senti como se estivesse assistindo o próprio Supertramp...É um concerto surpreendente.

Get Smart

I love cartoons and movies. In the 70´s there was a hilarious serie for TV called "Get Smart". It was very funny. I always watched the great Maxwell Smart or Agent 86 against the K.A.O.S. Organization. Max became alive due the Don Adams´s talent. Nowadays, here in Brazil, it is possible to see again this serie at the Nickelodeon Channel. Unfortunately, the great actor Don Adams died in 2.005. This is my tribute for him.

Eu adoro desenhos e filmes. Na década de 70 existia uma série de TV muito divertida chamada "Agente 86" (título no Brasil). Ela era muito divertida. Eu sempre assisita o grande Maxwell Smart ou Agente 86 contra a K.A.O.S. Max ganhou vida devido ao talento de Don Adams. Atualmente, aqui no Brasil, ainda é possível ver essa série no Canal Nickelodeon. Infelizmente, o grande ator Don Adams faleceu em 2.005. Esse é o meu tributo para ele.
